Air Canada Vacations to serve Quebec City Airport

October 19, 2010 – The Québec City Airport is very pleased by the announcement made today by Air Canada Vacations to the effect that they will be offering a weekly flight to Varadaro in the Winter 2010-2011 season. Once again, the number of flights from Québec City has been increased, thus giving passengers even more choice of destinations.

Air Canada Vacations has announced that from December 19th 2010 to April 10th, 2011, a new flight from Québec City to Varadero will be offered every Sunday.

“Today’s announcement is excellent news, since not only does it increase our number of flights to sun destinations, but it’s also proof of carriers’ growing enthusiasm to offer flights form Québec City. Although Air Canada is one of our major partners through their flights offered by Air Canada Jazz, this is the first flight from Québec City by Air Canada Vacations”, Gaëtan Gagné, President and CEO of the Québec City Airport declared. This winter, Québec City Airport’s clients will have access to over 40 flights a week to sun destinations.

Referring to the spectacular increase of 27.3% in the number of passengers in September, Mr. Gagné reiterated Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport’s success reflected by the 13.9% increase in passengers since the beginning of the year. “These impressive statistics reflect an ever-growing diversification of flights as well as the devotion and the efforts made day-in, day-out by all the Airport’s employees”, he said.

Since November 1, 2000, the Québec City Airport has been responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and development of the Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport. Approximately a dozen carriers offer multiple connections to various destinations in North America, the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe, 50 direct flights a day to major cities in Eastern Canada and the United States, such as Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, New York, Detroit, Cleveland, Washington and Chicago and over 45 chartered flights a week to sun destinations as well as Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille and Nantes.
